Watercooler: Bridalplasty Gets Even Uglier

Well, it's official. The end times are here. Now that Bridalplasty is actually a thing, it needs to be discussed. Worst. Show. Ever. Not only is the concept of self-esteem deficient brides-to-be who vie for plastic surgery before their impending nups as busted as some of the contestants' personalities, this reality chintzfest from the brain trust behind Rock of Love is also incredibly cruel. To the viewers, that is. Especially after last night's second episode, which saw lumbering whiner Allyson avoid elimination over the much-more likable (and deserving) Jessica, overbearing Alexandra mangle the English language ("I think I'm a well writer and a well peaker"), and some seriously grisly footage of Cheyenne's nose job. Yikes. The hammering. The cutting. The close-up of her gaping, bloody schnoz. Who the hell thought this would make for good TV?! And how are these women so blasé about subjecting themselves to what ...

Tonight’s TV Hot List: Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010

Skating with the Stars8/7c ABC Tonight, someone will glide off the ice as the Skating with the Stars Season 1 champion. And that's no easy feat: This season's injuries and hospital visits have shown how difficult this reality competition is. Five weeks ago, Bethenny Frankel, Jonny Moseley, Rebecca Budig, Vince Neil, Brandon Mychal Smith and Sean Young took to the ice, and now only two are left standing. And for the eventual winner, perhaps the glow of achievement will melt the ice. — Jennifer SankowskiAre you watching Skating with the Stars tonight? A New Ames for Human Target

Still got your wallet? Hot Brit import Janet Montgomery — one of the stars of the Natalie Portman Oscar-buzz movie Black Swan — has joined Human Target as a cocky superthief simply known as Ames. "She was caught by the team in the middle of a heist, and she never gets caught," says Montgomery. "She's really impressed by that. She wants to learn from the guys. She's also looking for redemption." The impossibly moody Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley) is especially taken with Ames, but Montgomery swears there's no attraction there. "I don't think Ames sees any of the guys that way," she says. "I'm not saying she's the Virgin Mary, but men are not her priority." That's not the case with Montgomery's other TV role — Eric's übercompetent assistant Jennie on Entourage. Late last season, Jennie sparked with Johnny Drama. Will love bloom when the show returns for its final season? Montgomery ...

Watercooler: Christmas Week Survival Guide, Night One

Christmas may be the most wonderful time of the year, but for TV, it's kind of a bleak week, ya'll. Just take last night. While we did find a few originals to keep us busy, the pickins' were slim and, no surprise, mostly reality-based. There was the Survivor finale featuring the franchise's dumbest final four, the Phaedra-Kim snipefest on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Discovery Health's awesomely titled The 8-Limbed Boy, apocalyptic harbinger Bridalplasty, and of course Sarah Palin's Alaska. Or as PETA surely likes to call it, "Snuff Film Weekly." As far as scripted originals, only Leverage really suited up, delivering its two-part season finale and reminding us once again why Goran Visnjic needs to be a series regular on something soon. Other than that? Yeah, not so much. So what did you tune in to last night? Was Iron Chef: America on your viewing menu? Maybe some Kendra, just for giggles ...
